A Guide to A Universe Supplementary to This One is the second artist book, Ustek has published in liasion with the exhibition entitled A Universe Supplementary to This One. The artist book is composed of short essays compiled under the influence of each work in the exhibition and positioned as a supplementary reading for furthering the relations-web of the works and the space and the conceptual framework.
In order to define and cultivate an image of the idea of a universe supplementary to this one, Ustek has been in collaboration with the artists. This exchange of ideas and approaches manifests itself in the artist book envisioned by Ustek which is composed of a sequence of universes dedicated to each artist in the exhibition. In a way in which, each work through its components denote a defining` elements of a respective universe while the exhibition becomes a set that contains a multitude of universes. Furthering this exchange, Ustek has assigned a different chapter/universe compiled for another artist, to each artist asking them a visual response to be included in the publication.

Bu Evrene Ek bir Evren icin Rehber, Ustek’in kaleme aldigi ikinci sanatci kitabidir. Bu Evrene Ek Bir Evren sergisi icin duzenlenen bu kitap, serginin gorsel boyutuna yazi ile rehberlik etmek icin tasarlanmistir. Sergiye ek olarak konumlanan rehber her sanatcinin isinden esinlenerek duzenlenmis olan kisa yazilar icermekte ve sergideki iliskiler agina yeni bir boyut kazandirmayi amaclamaktadir.
Üstek, bu evrene ek bir evren fikrinin imgesini tanımlamak ve geliştirmek adına sanatçılarla işbirliği içinde çalışır. Sergide yer alan her bir iş bir evren olarak değerlendirilir, bu doğrultuda sergi bir çoklu evren kümesi olarak belirlenir. Sergide yer alan eserlere dair her öğe, ürettikleri evren fikrinin bir tanımlayanı olarak değerlendirilirken, bu fikirler ve yaklaşımlar değiş tokuşu, Üstek’in yazarlığını üstlendiği, her bir sanatçıya adanan evrenler dizininden oluşan sanatçı kitabında da kendini açık bir şekilde gösteriyor. Üstek, bu değiş tokuşu daha ileriye taşımak adına, kitaba dahil edilmek üzere, her bir sanatçıdan başka bir sanatçının işinden esinlenerek yazdığı bir bölüme görsel birer yanıt üretmelerini istiyor.
