fig-2 are looking for new museum and gallery partners to reimagine artists’ work in new spaces
In 2015 fig-2 staged 50 exhibitions in 50 weeks at the ICA Studio in London. Now, with support from Art Fund and Outset, they’re looking for four museum and gallery partners across the UK who’d like to work with them on the next stage of the project – fig-futures.
fig-futures will be a collaboration between fig-2 and four partners to produce four shows in four consecutive weeks during 2017 and 2018. They are looking for partners who are interested in a trans-disciplinary approach to exhibition programming and who are willing to test new ideas to explore the curatorial format.
Partners will work with fig-2 alumni artists and others to reimagine artists’ work in new spaces. Partners will host weekly exhibition openings and other collateral events that will support their shows. Each partner will receive a special exhibitions budget, and will also have the possibility to acquire art from the project for their collection.
Partners will receive guidance from the fig-2 project manager Yves Blais, as well as Art Fund staff. This team can support partners with selecting artists, managing the transportation, production and installation of works, and promoting fig-futures exhibitions to local and national audiences.
Art Fund and Outset’s financial commitment to fig-futures is based on fig-2’s successful application to Arts Council England in early 2017, which museum and gallery partners will be asked to contribute information.
